Oba Femi Def. Ricky Saints And Will Face Cody Rhodes At SNME

• There was overwhelming support for Oba Femi early, but as people started chanting “Oba,” in Goldberg fashion, the Ricky Saints fans came alive by chanting “Ricky!” Fans especially sided with Saints when he did his signature rope walk, but Saints was promptly cut off.
• Booker T was in full-0n Booker T mode five minutes into this match and it was glorious to hear. Oba Femi took over the match after an early assault by Saints. Oba smothered Saints against the ropes and peppered him with forearms in the corner.
• Femi continued to dominate, applying the pressure to Saints as fans in the Boeing center rallied behind Ricky. Femi was so far ahead in this match early on, he started sarcastically doing pushups.
• Saints launched a comeback, this time capping off his rope walk with a hurricanrana. Saints followed up with a spear for a nearfall. Saints trapped Femi in a submission as Oba Femi faded. Oba fought his way out before being dumped to the outside. A dazed Oba barely made it back into the ring.
• Oba Femi fired up. He deadlifted Ricky from the ground and dropped him with a modified powerslam for another nearfall. Oba rolled to the outside. As Ricky charged Femi on the apron, Femi chopped him hard. Back came Saints with a tornado DDT on the steel step. Vic Joseph noted that it took four DDTs to take out Femi at No Mercy.
• Oba Femi shook off Saints’ DDT and caught him with the Fall from Grace after multiple attempts. Oba won his second NXT Championship and his first match with Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event. After the match, the two world champions shook hands.

Kendal Grey Wins Incredible WWE NXT Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge

• Kelani Jordan and Kendal Grey went back and forth early. Grey hit stomp from the outside of the ring to the inside of the ring. Grey and Jordan exchanged several rollups to no avail. Jordan dodged a sliding dropkick and connected with a stomp of her own as the action spilled to the outside. Jordan continued to work over Grey’s back with a backbreaker.
• Jordynne Grace was out next as Grey scored a pinfall over Kelani and sent her to the penalty box. Grace immediately took advantage of a weakened Grey with a running Vader Bomb. As Grace tried to lock Grey in a submission, Kelani came back and broke it up. Kelani Jordan rolled up Grey for a pinfall, sending Grey to the penalty box.
• When Grey’s time was up, Grace wisely attacked Grey as she walked out of the penalty box. Jordan dropped Grace with a dive to the outside. The three women hit a Tower of Doom suplex. Lola Vice came out fourth to a big pop. Lola hit a big back fist on Grey for an early pinfall in less than 30 seconds. Lola ran wild on Jordan and Grace with butt bumps and suplexes as San Antonio—and Booker T—were delighted.
• The match turned back into a four-way. Kendal Grey locked Grace into an armbar, then transitioned to a rollup on Grace for a pinfall. Grey hit a super German suplex on Jordan and Lola Vice capitalized with a V-Trigger. Grey broke up the pinfall.
• Grace kicked the door open, knocking out Kelani Jordan with the glass door. Grace urgently reentered the match and hit a sitout power bomb on Grey for a nearfall. Jordynne beautifully transitioned into a modified butterfly suplex on Vice. Jordan tried a cross body, but Grace rolled over and pinned her, sending her back into the penalty box. Heel Kelani attacked Sol Ruca’s injured knee before going to the box. Sol was escorted out by NXT officials before she could even enter the match. Kelani was pleased.
• Grace tried a Five Knuckle Shuffle on Kendal Grey but was cut off by Jordan, who was the biggest heel in this match by far to this point in a match filled with babyfaces. Jordan hit a Spanish Fly to the floor and sold her knee. Ruca came storming back into the match on one leg. Sol hit a double Sol Snatcher on Jordan and Vice for two quick pins.
• Sol Ruca synched in a Dragon Sleeper. Grace locked in a submission at the same tie. Lola Vice reentered the match and used her educated feet on both Ruca and Grace. Jordan pinned Grace after Grace took a splash with under five minutes left in the match.
• Vice stuck Grey with a pump kick to seal a five-way tie. Sol hit a Sol Snatcher on Lola Vice on the outside. With 30 seconds left, Sol tried to drag herself into the ring, but Kelani attacked Sol and tried vulturing the pin on Lola. Kendal emerged out of the box and hit the Shades of Grey on Vice for the win at the buzzer. Incredible match.

NXT Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match Grade: A

Ethan Page Def. Mr. Iguana

• Despite his generic theme music, Mr. Iguana was very over with San Antonio. “Iguana” chants were interrupted by Ethan Page’s entrance. Booker T glazed Ethan Page the entire match as he dismissed Mr. Iguana’s chances of winning the NXT North American Title.
• Iguana played dead to begin the match as the crowd ate it up. Ethan spun him around to immense laughter. “He’s dead!” said Ethan before Iguana sprung to life. Fans chanted “Oh Mr. Iguana!” As an outsider who is immediately over with a WWE audience.
• Mr. Iguana grabbed La Yesca, but dropped the toy. As he went to pick it up, Ethan delivered a DDT. Iguana got back into the match with a high cross body while La Yesca was in his mouth. Iguana showcased his lucha moves with a double tilt-a-whirl on Page to the outside. Booker T ranted about how Ethan Page is called “The Can Man,” because “anybody can get it.”
• Page took control of the match as he slapped around Mr. Iguana to the tune of “F U Ethan” chants. Back came Mr. Iguana with a running hurricanrana and a springboard shoulder tackle. La Yesca bit Ethan Page on the hand while Mr. Iguana walked the rope. Page caught Mr. Iguana in a powerslam to the delight of proud North African-American Booker T.
• Ethan removed La Yesca from Mr. Iguana’s hand, spat on it and tossed La Yesca to the outside. Massive heat. Mr. Iguana fired up after the dastardly act, but Ethan Page cut him off. The two battled atop the turnbuckle, and Mr. Iguana hit a hurricanrana. Iguana followed up with a second hurricanrana outside of the ring.
• Back inside the ring, Page hit a Twisted Grin for the win. There wasn’t a wasted motion in this match. Mr. Iguana might be the biggest star in NXT.

Ethan Page vs. Mr. Iguana Match Grade: B+

Izzi Dame def. Tatum Paxley

• The Culling circled Tatum Paxley to begin the match. Tatum teased reuniting with Izzi Dame, but Tatum promptly attacked Izzi and sent her flying outside of the ring. Dame begged off before attacking Dame. Vic Joseph talked up all the times Paxley was betrayed and questioned her mental state during this match.
• Dame controlled the match as she hit a backbreaker on Paxley. Fans rallied behind Paxley with loud “let’s go Tatum” chants. Paxley got back into the match after catching Dame in a tilt-a-whirl sleeper. Paxley held on for dear life before Dame backed her into a corner.
• “Tatum” chants filled the Boeing center followed by chants of “Izzi sucks.” This was positioned as the popcorn spot between a Mr. Iguana match and the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, but it had all the heat of a main event.
• Izzi Dame taunted Tatum while in full control of the match, but the demented Paxley laughed it off. Paxley launched a spirited comeback against Dame as the Texas crowd cheered her on. Dame thwarted Paxley’s comeback and tried a superplex. Paxley fought her off, but ate a dropkick in midair after trying a cross body.
• “Let’s go Tatum” chants started up once again. Dame and Paxley exchanged strikes. Paxley got the better of the exchange and followed up with a diving cross body on Dame between the middle and bottom ropes. Paxley set Dame up on the table. Fans chanted “Do it!” Paxley hit a Psycho Trap on the announce table. Before she could go in for the pin, Shawn Spears gave her two dolls. Tatum was transfixed. Spears ripped the head out of the black-haired doll. The distraction led to the Boot of Dame and the Dame over for the win.

Je’Von Evans Wins WWE NXT Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge As Tony DeAngelo Returns

• Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater started the match. Fans popped both for Je’Von’s entrance and also for the possibility of an Evans vs. Slater match. Evans opened with a springboard cutter attempt, but Slater caught him. The two went back and forth in a quick-paced start endign with a hurricanrana from Slater.
• Evans and Slater went tit-for-tat, even to the point where they both held each others’ foot. They agreed to put their feet down, but Je’Von tried to take advantage and paid for it as he took a kick to the face from Slater.
• Myles Borne entered at No. 3, Borne chose this spot earlier in the night. Slightly before Borne’s entry, Evans scored the first pinfall of the match with a hurricanrana into a cradle. Slater reentered with a springboard cross body on Evans. Booker T put over his Best of Five series against John Cena as Evans and Slater suplexed one another outside of the ring and landed on their feet. Borne took them both out with a dive to the outside.
• Borne commanded the pace in the ring with a chop to Evans followed by a knockdown for a nearfall. Borne worked over Slater as well. Nine minutes into the matchup, there were a lot of fireworks but just one pinfall.
• Dion Lennox entered at No. 4 with no Dark State (for now.) Lennox laid waste to Borne, Evans and Slater one-by-one. The field ganged up on Dion Lennox dating back to all their preexisting issues with Dark State. Lennox hit a Doomsday Device on Slater followed by a tilt-a-whirl slam on Evans for the second pinfall of the night.
• Je’Von Evans exploded out of the penalty box and ran wild on everybody. Evans hit a Frog Splash on Borne for a nearfall. Joe Hendry appeared as the final entry of the night. There was no smile from Hendry this time, but rather a look of determination as Hendry hit the ring. Hendry was the clear fan favorite as he hit a double fallaway slam on Slater and Evans. He did his signature pose and remained serious.
• Fans chanted “we believe” as Hendry teased a chokeslam on Slater. The chokeslam was broken up by Lennox, who was booed heavily. Hendry dumped the Slater, Evans and Lennox out of the ring, one after another, and cleared the rope for a dive. Borne tried to take advantage, but Hendry was ready and hit a fireman’s carry slam for the pin.
• Borne came out of the door, but Lennox was lying in wait. Lennox closed the door on Borne and laid him out. Back in the ring, Je’Von Evans was on fire. Evans hit a coast-to-coast Swanton on Hendry, but Slater vultured the pinfall attempt with a Swanton 450 on Hendry.
• The match was tied at one with less than five minutes to go as San Antonio literally rumbled with “this is awesome” chants. Borne hit a Borne Again on Lennox for a pinfall, deadlocking the match at a four-way tie. A frustrated Lennox attacked Hendry in the penalty box and fans booed like crazy.
• A hobbled Hendry came back into the match, but he willed himself through a comeback on Borne, Slater and Evans. Fans booed Lennox as he reentered. Lennox locked Evans in the penalty box with under two minutes left. There was no official to unlock the penalty box. Hendry hit a Standing Ovation on Lennox while Evans climbed to the top of the penalty box. The first YN of NXT hit a dive onto Lennox.
• 60 seconds left.Everybody scattered around and broke up each others’ nearfalls. Hendry and Slater dumped each other outside of the ring after a Swanton 450 on Myles Borne. Evans took advantage and rolled up Borne for the win. After the match, Je’Von stared a hole in Oba Femi, whom he’s never beaten. The lights turned off and a mystery figure was seen walking alongside a highway. The mystery figure turned out to be Tony DeAngelo. DeAngelo chokeslammed Evans and stared Oba down as NXT Deadline went off the air.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match Grade: B+
