The sequence of events began in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Authorities reported that Davis was apprehended just before 8 p.m. in the 8000-block of South Ingleside Avenue. Prior to his arrest, he had allegedly shot and seriously injured a 22-year-old woman a block away in the 7900-block of South Ingleside Avenue.

Police were initially called to the scene following a domestic disturbance report, which indicated that a male was armed with a gun and a knife. Upon their arrival, Davis reportedly attempted to flee and fired shots at the officers.

In response, two police officers discharged their weapons, hitting Davis. The incident took place in the block where Davis resides, according to CPD.

CPD said he lives in the same block, where the incident occurred.

Davis was seriously injured in the shooting, officials previously said.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability and CPD’s Investigative Response Team are investigating.

The officers involved will be placed on routine administrative duties for a minimum period of 30 days.
