Colombian footballer Guillermo Beltran has been announced dead due to heart failure, after collapsing in training.

Beltran, 24, who played as a striker for Real Santa Cruz, collapsed during the training session after complaining of dizziness and nausea.

Despite efforts of club staff to resuscitate him, Beltran passed away while being transported to the hospital.

Real Santa Cruz announced his untimely death with a heartfelt statement, inviting fans to pay their respects and bidding farewell to the player who had left an “indelible mark on the club and its supporters.”

The club described Beltran as a talented player who inspired and was friendly to many.

They also expressed gratitude for his passion and spirit, vowing to cherish his memory forever.
