A talented Australian musician who has had a wildly successful career overseas has shared an unrecognisable series of photos with his fans.

The star, 56, took to Instagram to post several photographs of himself as a young man, alongside some charming images from his childhood where he played guitar.

The four-time Grammy Award winner started his career in Australia in the 1990s, signing with EMI for his debut album.

Shortly after that, he moved to the United States and released his debut self-titled American album in 1999.

Since then, he has released 10 successful records and has collaborated with superstars such as Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Pink.

In 2005, he met a very famous Hollywood actress at an event promoting Australian culture, and the pair married the next year.

In 2006, he entered the renowned rehab facility Betty Ford Center to tackle his substance abuse issues, and he left the center in 2007 with a renewed outlook on life.

He has also been a judge on singing competitions The Voice Australia as well as seasons 12 to 15 of American Idol.

In the caption, he wrote: ‘When I was a kid, our family moved around a lot.’ 

‘For me, a “hometown” has always felt more about my family and a place inside of me – somewhere I could find my center,’ he expressed, before revealing his new single Heart Is Like A Hometown.

The post comes after Keith and his wife Nicole Kidman recently celebrated 18 years of marriage together.

Nicole commemorated the special moment with a sweet snap of her and Keith by the ocean.

Keith played the guitar while Nicole lounged next to him.

‘Forever,’ she captioned the image adding a heart and hashtagged Happy Anniversary.

The lovebirds first met on January 15, 2005 at a G’Day USA gala in LA; Nicole and Keith are both from Australia.

They had exchanged numbers, but he didn’t reach out to her for four months—yet the couple grew closer and stronger once they reunited over the summer.

They announced their engagement in May 2006 and one month later – on June 25, 2006 – married in Sydney.

They welcomed daughter Sunday in 2008 and daughter Faith in 2010.
