The stage was set for a long-awaited reunion as Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice returned to the spotlight, gracing the American Idol platform together for the first time in nearly two decades.
Back in early 2005, Underwood, now 42, and Bice, now 49, were the final contenders in the intense competition of American Idol’s fourth season. Ultimately, Underwood emerged as the season’s champion, capturing the hearts of many.
During the climactic moments of that finale, host Ryan Seacrest announced that both finalists would be taking home a 2005 Ford Mustang convertible. This nostalgic memory was humorously revisited in a recent episode aired on Sunday night.
Following a replay of that memorable clip, viewers saw Carrie driving her fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, along with Seacrest, in the very same convertible she won all those years ago.
“So, guys, we are in the exact car that I won 20 years ago,” Underwood shared, prompting admiration from the other judges for the vehicle’s well-preserved condition.
Luke Bryan pointed out the car’s CD player, to which Underwood admitted she had never used it. However, when they played the disc inside, it was revealed to be Bo Bice’s rendition of “Inside Your Heaven.”

Underwood mentioned, ‘we both released Inside Your Heaven as a single. Why is Bo’s version in my car?’
They cut to Helena, Alabama – three hours straight south of Nashville – where Bo was driving what seemed to be his car, with Carrie’s version of Inside Your Heaven.
The long-haired singer – clad in a grey t-shirt, black pants and black shoes – said, ‘Sing it girl,’ as they showed the license plate reading, ‘S4Winner,’ indicating he had swapped cars at some point.
‘I got you Carrie, yeah!’ he said while driving away, as the brief bit came to an end.

‘Hey @bobiceofficial #CUonIdol tonight,’ Underwood said, sharing a snap of them on the new Idol set, plus one of them from the Season 4 finale 20 years earlier.
Just weeks after the Idol finale, Underwood released her version of Inside Your Heaven, which would later be included on her studio album debut Some Hearts.
Her version of the single debuted on June 14, 2005, premiering atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts and topping the Canadian singles charts too.
