The stars turned out in force at the premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which was held in London’s Leicester Square on Thursday night.

But all eyes were on actress Emma Stone, 25, who plays Gwen Stacy in the movie. She stood out in a bright yellow gown which trailed onto the floor. 

She posed next to her boyfriend Andrew Garfield, whom she met in 2011 while filming The Amazing Spider-Man. In the movie, he plays the protagonist, Peter Parker, and Emma’s love interest on-screen.

Emma was channelling a retro image on the night, wearing her red locks in 50s style curls which she wore in a side parting.

She polished off the look with a slick of berry-coloured lipstick, a pair of gold peeptoe heels and a matching chunky necklace.

Earlier in the day, the Spice Girls fan was thrilled when she met Mel C, on a FaceTime call live during an interview on London’s Capital FM.

Her boyfriend seemed quite taken with her outfit of choice as he was caught giving the back of it a quick once over.

Garfield, looking sharp in a dark suit, attended the premiere accompanied by some special guests—children he had met the previous day through Brixton’s Kids City organization.

This charity offers after-school activities for kids aged 3 to 11, and Andrew had dressed up as his superhero character to meet the excited young fans.

The Hollywood star was in good spirits as he met volunteers, fielded questions and joined in the fun at a nearby basketball court in Brixton Hill Place.

And on Thursday, the children looked thrilled to be back in the company of their new and famous friend.

The superstar seemed more than happy to stop and talk to his legions of fans who had waited for hours to catch a glimpse of him.

At one point, the actor hung off a man who had dressed up as Spider-Man as he play fought with him.

But the star was soon back in the arms of his girlfriend and he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off her. At several points, he held onto her hand like a true gent and Emma seemed thrilled.

The pair hugged and cuddled in the centre of the red carpet to the delight of their fans.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 centres on Peter Parker as he struggles to balance high school with his secret superhero life, with a few new enemies thrown in to keep him on his toes.

Andrew – a life long Spider-Man fan – is said to be signed on for one more instalment but it is not known if Gwen Stacy’s fate will mirror that of her comic book character.

‘It’s a miracle that I ever make it on stage or in front of a camera,’ Andrew recently told Entertainment Weekly. ‘I get riddled with self doubt.

Jamie Foxx stars as villain Max Dillon/Electro while Dane DeHaan plays Harry Osborn / Green Goblin in the film.

Foxx looked dashing as he turned up in a grey suit to the event, throwing ‘V’ signs at photographers. He took off his vintage-style sunglasses to make his way down the red carpet.

Other stars who attended the premiere were TOWIE’s Jess Wright who looked stunning in a floral crop top and matching pencil skirt, as well as a funky lemon shaped clutch bag and YSL shoes.

She was joined by her boyfriend Ricky Rayment who wore a smart suit and cosied up to his partner for photographs.

Co-star Ferne McCann looked elegant in a long blue maxi dress which she teamed with a fuschia-coloured clutch bag.

The Amazing-Spiderman 2 will be showing in UK cinemas on April 18.
