Will there be more MobLand?

Following the Season 1 finale on Sunday night (June 1), we’re eagerly anticipating what’s next (and if you’re not up to speed on the 10-episode crime drama, Decider offers you detailed recaps of MobLand).

Created by Ronan Bennett, the show features a star-studded cast, including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Joanne Froggatt, Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Geoff Bell, Anson Boon, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber.

The series achieved the most significant global premiere for Paramount+, even garnering attention from Live with Kelly and Mark hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.

“We’ve been watching this show called MobLand,” she told viewers on Live‘s May 14 episode. “And MobLand is a show that is so good, but it stresses me out so much that my health data on my Oura Ring basically tells me I’m having a heart attack as I’m watching it.”

While all 10 episodes of MobLand Season 1 are now streaming, fans are yearning for a Season 2 — but will that be the case? Here is what we know about whether or not there will be a MobLand Season 2.

Will there be a MobLand Season 2?

MobLand has yet to receive a Season 2 renewal. We will update this post once an announcement has been made surrounding the future of the series.

However, series executive producer and writer Jez Butterworth told the New York Post that he would “like this to run for as long as it fascinates and delights and stimulates an audience.”

“If it’s doing that, then long may it continue,” he added.

Hardy also told The Hollywood Reporter that “the plan is definitely to see more seasons,” so let’s hope this plan comes to fruition!

Did Harry die in the MobLand Season 1 finale?

In his interview with the New York Post, Butterworth also addressed whether the the Harrigan fixer actually died in MobLand Season 1, Episode 10.

“I mean, if you think about it, ‘is Harry dead?’” he said. “No. We’re not gonna – We love Harry. We love Tom.”
