The Rizzler is bringing his charm to the Thunderbolts cast, though Julia Louis-Dreyfus wasn’t fully in the loop.

Christian Joseph, the 9-year-old internet celebrity known as The Rizzler, attended a special screening of the latest Marvel film on April 30 at New York’s iPic Theater, organized by the Cinema Society.

Dressed up as Red Guardian, Joseph took pictures with various stars from the movie, including Louis-Dreyfus, Lewis Pullman, Florence Pugh, and Wyatt Russell, all while showcasing his trademark “rizz face” — a playful chin stroke paired with a cheeky camera expression.

David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian, skipped the event, but Joseph certainly kept the vibe alive.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Louis-Dreyfus joked about meeting the viral star, starting with, “Who knew?”

When questioned if she was aware of the photo’s viral status, she confessed: “Um, I really wasn’t aware of that, and no offense to that nice child, but I didn’t know who he was.”

The interviewer quipped, “You guys looked very friendly, so I’m sure he’ll be completely fine.”

Louis-Dreyfus added, “Yeah, he was pretty cute because he showed me his moves. He was dressed like Red Guardian, so I said ‘show me your Red Guardian moves,’ not knowing he was The Rizzler.”

Joseph, who boasts 1.6 million TikTok followers, later posted a video from the screening, still in character. He walks up to the counter and says, “Two tickets please,” prompting the employee to ask, “For what movie?” Joseph points to his Red Guardian outfit, hoping for a lightbulb moment.

Joseph first went viral on Halloween 2023, dressed as Black Panther and delivering hilarious commentary that earned him 2.5 million likes. His iconic pose quickly turned him into an internet sensation.

“Rizz” — short for “charisma” — refers to flirting or charm, and it was crowned Oxford University Press’s Word of the Year in 2023.

Thunderbolts, based on the Marvel comic, follows a team of anti-heroes forced into a life-or-death situation.

Directed by Jake Schreier of Paper Towns fame, the film hits theaters on May 2, 2025.
