Country music sensation Luke Bryan, known for his numerous accolades and role as a judge on American Idol, recently shared an amusing encounter about being mistaken for another famous country star.
During a Tuesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 48-year-old singer recounted a humorous mix-up at a gas station near his Nashville home, where a cashier confused him with fellow bearded country artist Blake Shelton.
“One of the cash register attendants thought I was Blake Shelton,” he revealed to the late-night host. “That’s probably the most awkward situation I’ve had in my neighborhood.”
The “Play It Again” singer continued, “The attendant was so sure of it.”
“He said, ‘You’re Blake Shelton. Tell me about being Blake Shelton,'” Bryan recounted with a chuckle.
When the attendant asked, “Do you get that a lot?” Bryan humorously replied, “Not much.”

As one of Bryan’s sons was watching the interaction, the crooner explained, ‘The guy looked and me, and he’s like, “You are Blake Shelton’s doppelgänger,” and he goes, “Could you imagine what it would be like to have Blake Shelton’s money?”‘
‘I said, “Oh, what it must be like.”‘
‘Who does have more money? You or Blake Shelton?’ Kimmel asked.
‘Me,’ the One Margarita stinger answered confidently.
‘Do you know that for sure?’ Kimmel pressed.
‘Depends on if …Wikipedia is right,’ the Knockin’ Boots artist said with a smile.
When asked if he had a helicopter like The Voice judge, Bryan answered, ‘I do.
‘Only because Blake called me and recommended that I ought to get one,’ he added.

‘And because of the helicopter, that’s why I feel more confident with potentially going into space,’ in reaction to fellow American Idol judge Katy Perry’s trip on Monday aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard capsule along with CBS Morning anchor Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos.
‘It must have been quite the euphoric ride through the cosmos,’ he said regarding Perry’s comment about feeling ‘super connected to love’ following the adventure.
‘She’ll have to debrief me on those emotions,’ he said, adding that any chance of his leaving the Earth’s atmosphere would be part of ‘a very delicate negotiation… You gotta take that chance,’ Bryan said.
The tireless performer will be bringing his annual Farm Tour, in which he performs on working farms to California in the Spring. ‘It’s become to me and my family and everybody in my crew, and we have a good time.’
