Carlo Ancelotti hailed his 20-year-old veteran Jude Bellingham after the England midfielder scored twice in his first Clasico to win the game for Real Madrid.
‘He can easily reach 20-25 goals, said Ancelotti. ‘We don’t have in mind that he is a scorer or a striker. He is scoring, but we wait for the rest of us to score goals.
‘Bellingham plays like a veteran. He’s got a fantastic attitude. We didn’t want a draw and his equaliser changed the dynamic of the game. From then on we had more strength and more energy and they started to show more weakness; until that moment they had been the better side.’
He did not celebrate as he was thirsty for more and determined to find a winner for Los Blancos.

That much he did as he scored in the 92nd minute to become the hero in his first El Clasico.
‘We are surprised with him especially in terms of his effectiveness,’ said Ancelotti. ‘He’s scored a lot of goals already but what was surprising here was the distance. He hasn’t scored a lot from the edge of the area, usually it’s when he arrives from deeper.’
Asked if the England man should be a Ballon d’Or candidate he said: ‘I don’t know where he will be in the Ballon d’Or. I don’t really care. All I know is that at the moment he makes a huge difference for us.’
The result sees Madrid move four points clear of Barcelona and retain top spot over surprise quick starters Girona, who are level with them on 28 points.
Bellingham is top scorer in La Liga by some distance, with his ten goals three better than his nearest rival, Antoine Griezmann.
