Brad Pitt

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a series of Los Angeles home invasions, including one at the home of actor Brad Pitt.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Oxygen that four individuals have been apprehended in relation to the June 25 break-in that took place on the 2300 block of N. Edgemont Drive. Multiple media outlets, such as People and the Los Angeles Times, have linked the residence to Pitt, who was in Europe promoting his new film, “F1: The Movie,” at the time.

Two of the suspects, Damari Zair Charles and January Arman Watson, both aged 18, were detained on August 11 on charges of first-degree burglary, as reported by People. They are also alleged to have targeted another residence in Orange County on August 7.

The two additional suspects have not been identified yet.

What did burglars do at Brad Pitt’s home?

An unnamed police source informed the Los Angeles Times that at least three suspects scaled a fence surrounding Pitt’s residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood around 10:30 p.m. on June 25, then broke a window to enter the actor’s home.

Once inside, the suspects reportedly ransacked the property as they searched for valuables, leaving Pitt’s belongings overturned and scattered throughout the residence.

The suspects “then fled the location with miscellaneous property,” police told People

Authorities declined to comment about what specifically was taken from the house.

Brad Pitt was in Europe at the time of break-in

At the time of the break-in, Pitt was in London to attend the European premiere of his summer blockbuster.

The break-in at Pitt’s home is part of a series of similar recent incidents targeting celebrities in the vicinity, including Nicole Kidman, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and soccer player Olivier Giroud, as noted by the Los Angeles Times.

However, these burglaries haven’t been limited to the homes of the rich and famous alone. The burglars seem to have been targeting affluent neighborhoods, like Beverly Hills, using sophisticated methods to ascertain if any occupants are present, as highlighted by LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell in July, according to NBC LA.

“They may have cameras laid out on the property or on a car parked on the street across from the target house for a period of time, to be able to determine a pattern of life, to determine when a person is going to be home, when they’re going to be gone,” he said.

Charles and Watson are currently being held without bail at the Theo Lacy jail complex in Orange, California, as the investigation continues.
