Peacock has officially announced the premiere date and release schedule for NBC’s highly anticipated new spinoff series for The Office.

The Paper is scheduled to debut on Peacock on Thursday, September 4. The new series will kick off with the first four episodes, with two additional episodes released every Thursday until September 25.

In The Paper, the documentary team formerly chronicling Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch discovers a new focus: a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher determined to revive it.

As reported by Variety, a trailer shown at the NBCUniversal upfront event features the documentary crew visiting the Toledo Truth-Teller, where they unexpectedly encounter former Dunder Mifflin accountant Oscar Martinez, reprised by The Office star Oscar Nuñez. Oscar isn’t particularly thrilled to reunite with the crew in his new role as the newspaper’s accountant.

Domhnall Gleeson stars as a new employee at the paper, while The White Lotus breakout star Sabrina Impacciatore plays the managing editor.

Gleeson recently described the show as following a “cast of underdog characters that are banding together to keep journalism alive.”

“My character has the unwavering optimistic belief that he can turn The Truth Teller to the glory of its heyday… And, if you’re wondering, I will not be using this Irish accent,” he said.

Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key also round out the cast.

The nature of their roles have largely been kept under wraps. However, the Palisades Post, a local newspaper in California, revealed the actors shadowed members of the newspaper’s staff to “gain a deeper understanding of the inner-workings of a local publication.”

The actors reportedly shadowed staff members who worked in sales, reporting, circulation and graphic design at the Palisades Post.

For fans looking for something to tune into before The Paper premieres, The Office is streaming now on Peacock.
