IMDb Synopsis: Continually troubled by his past experiences, Tommy Jarvis, who was responsible for killing Jason Voorhees as a child, finds himself at a secluded halfway house located in the countryside. Here, the killing of a young man sets off a horrific series of murders in the surrounding area.
According to Tomatometer ratings, A New Beginning is ranked among the least successful Friday the 13th movies, with a score of 18%. It joins the ranks of other poorly rated films in the series such as Jason Goes to Hell (16%), Jason Takes Manhattan (11%), and Part III (7%), which also received low ratings.
Fun Fact: Cory Feldman wanted to do Friday The 13th: A New Beginning instead of a little film called… Goonies.
“Unfortunately, Spielberg disrupted all our plans because he decided he wanted me in a couple of movies,” Feldman mentions in Crystal Lake Memories. “Quite reluctantly, I was compelled to take part in a small movie called Goonies rather than engage fully in the complete version of Friday the 13th Part 5.”
