NBC meteorologist and Today show cohost Dylan Dreyer is experiencing a significant change in her personal life. On Friday, July 18, right after finishing the third hour of Today, Dreyer announced via a personal Instagram post that she and her husband, Brian Fichera, have amicably decided to separate.
“For many years, I’ve shared my family’s journey with you — all the highs, lows, and the cherished memories we’ve created together,” Dreyer expressed alongside a serene sunset photo. “Because of that connection, I want to let you know that a few months ago, Brian and I chose to go our separate ways.”
The well-known TV personality further mentioned, “We started as friends, and we intend to remain the best of friends. Above all, we will continue to co-parent our three amazing boys with love and respect.”
Dreyer, 43, and Fichera, 38, married in 2012 and share three sons â Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty. The couple met while working at Bostonâs WHDH, where Dreyer was a meteorologist before joining NBC News later that year.
Though Fichera has been mostly absent from Dreyerâs Instagram in 2024, she did post a sweet family selfie on Fatherâs Day with the caption, âHappy Fatherâs Day Bri!!â on June 15.
In happier times, the couple even shared their âmarriage secretâ in a January 2023 Today.com feature. âGolf is the thing we do together. We have a couple of drinks, we laugh. We remember why we fell in love,â Dreyer said at the time. âThen we go home and it’s right back to family.â
The announcement comes during a somber season for the Today family. In May, Dreyerâs cohost Sheinelle Jones suffered the devastating loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh, to glioblastoma at age 45.
Dreyer publicly paid tribute to Jones and her late husband in a heartfelt Instagram post that same day. âTo my dear friend @sheinelle_o⦠I wish I had the words to help you feel better,â she wrote. âIâm blessed to have known Uche and this picture sums up the love and support and joy you shared with each other. May your heart be comforted by your memories.â
