Award-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has explained why he is unconcerned about the Grammy honours and other major honours.

The 66th Grammy Awards were hosted yesterday night, February 4th, 2023, in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, and are now trending on social media.

However, Nigerian musicians Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Tems fared poorly, receiving no awards.

However, users discovered a Wizkid flashback tweet in which the singer explained why he did not want to talk about award nominations.

According to Wizkid, he doesn’t care because the majority of awards/shows are established by a group of individuals.

Wizkid wrote; “I don’t post about nominations or talk about awards cos I don’t really care to be honest.

Just a bunch of peeps putting together a show!”

In 2021, Wizkid garnered significant attention by securing a Grammy award for his collaborative contribution to the 2019 Beyoncé hit track, “Brown Skin Girl.” Wizkid emerged victorious in the ‘Best Music Video’ category, marking a notable achievement in his career.
