CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears are hosting Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, hoping to get their first win of the season.

The game begins at 3:25 p.m. at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Bears have placed their star cornerback, Jaylon Johnson, on injured reserve after he hinted at possibly undergoing season-ending groin surgery. This decision comes ahead of their upcoming game.

Johnson injured himself while disrupting a pass during a heavy loss to Detroit last week. On Monday, during a radio show appearance, he mentioned that his groin injury requires repair and he’s evaluating the best course of action.

Previously, Johnson had missed both training camp and the start of the season due to a groin injury, although the current issue is a separate incident that occurred during the Lions game.

The injury happened in the second quarter during their 52-21 defeat when he broke up a pass targeted at Amon-Ra St. Brown, and lay on the ground afterwards from the effort.

Johnson had initially injured his groin over the summer in Las Vegas. Describing it as a “freak accident,” he explained that he partially tore an adductor muscle from his pelvic bone and only began practicing right before the season-opening game against Minnesota.

The Bears, who currently have a 0-2 record, also placed offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie on injured reserve due to an elbow injury, added defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon to the team, and promoted defensive back Dallis Flowers and linebacker Carl Jones Jr. from their practice squad.
