âI think I was just acting out on feelings and emotions, eating and eating and then lockdown, Covid, that didnât help.â
He admitted that his doctor told him he was âon death rowâ when he was at his heaviest, during which time he âcouldnât tie my own shoelacesâ and was âfinding it hard to breathe.â
Argent, known as âArgâ, said that he wasnât even able to see his own penis, joking: âI can just about see it now.â
Despite his positive lifestyle change, Argent said that there were times when he actually got âtoo skinnyâ and is currently trying to âupâ his protein and âgain a little bit more.â
He said that the supportive comments from fans spurred him on to lose weight, but that people have to be âcarefulâ about what they say.
âYou know when you get comments like, âYou look well, keep going,â it does spur you on, it does make you feel better,â he said.
âI think youâve got to be quite careful, if itâs about someone looking healthy, I think â I used to say to myself, âthe more weight you lose the better,â so the skinnier you are the better, but that isnât actually the case because there are times when youâre too skinny.â
He added: âAnd even now Iâm trying to up my protein a little bit and trying to gain a little bit more.â
Argent, who saw his private and professional life play out on the ITV2Â reality show for nearly a decade, has previously said having the gastric sleeve fitted in 2021 was âincredible and life-changing.â
