The official theme of Monday night’s Met Gala may have been a celebration of black history, but many viewers couldn’t help but notice another recurring motif: Some of the world’s biggest stars were stepping out with noticeably slimmer frames and whittled waistlines.
‘What stood out across the board this year was the trend toward a lean, elegant, and natural-looking physique,’ board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gaurav Bharti told the Daily Mail.
‘It’s clearly the trending aesthetic at the moment. It’s highly likely that many in Hollywood are using Ozempic, or similar GLP-1 agents, even in a microdose format.’
Miracle weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound and Mounjaro have stormed into the spotlight in recent years, hailed as potential game-changers in the battle against America’s obesity crisis.
But long before these skinny shots became available to the masses, they were already Hollywood’s worst-kept secret – quietly used by celebrities looking to slim down fast behind the scenes.
Based on photos from Monday’s big night in New York City, multiple plastic surgeons revealed to the Daily Mail which A-listers at the Met may have turned to weight-loss drugs to achieve their red-carpet look…

Nicole Scherzinger made her Met Gala debut in a sparkly pinstripes gown designed by Prabal Gurung
Nicole Scherzinger
The former frontwoman of The Pussycat Dolls made her Met debut this year in a sparkly pinstripe gown designed by Prabal Gurung, as she embraced the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme of the night.
While many were left in awe of her outfit, some eagle-eyed fans began to raise questions about her stunning weight loss and wondered if she was suffering from so-called ‘Ozempic face’.
The term – coined by cosmetic and celebrity dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank – refers to the emergence of lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and sunken eyes due to drastic and sudden weight loss.
New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Jimmy Sung, however, said that Scherzinger’s face still looked perfect.
‘Nicole was able to achieve a healthy weight loss ahead of the Met, likely with the help of GLP-1,’ Dr. Sung said. ‘She is blessed with beautiful, dark skin, which naturally has more collagen and fat. Thus, she did not experience the deflated look some patients experience.’
Additionally, Dr. Sung recommended: ‘For those planning to start GLP-1, it is a good idea to begin banking their collagen before and throughout the process.’
The 46-year-old singer herself has never commented on taking Ozempic.
Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling, 45, continued to show off her incredible weight loss transformation as she arrived at Monday night’s event – further fueling Ozempic speculation.

Kaling, who claims to have dropped 40 lbs in 2023, looked her slimmest yet and left many including Dr. Bharti suspecting that the star has been using the weight loss drug
In 2023, Kaling said she’d lost 40 lbs and attributed her success to physical exercise, sharing that she runs 20 miles each week and lifts weights with a trainer.
Now, surgeon Dr. Bharti suspects the star has been using a weight-loss drug as she continues to stay mum on the rumors.
‘It’s likely that Mindy has incorporated agents like Ozempic into her routine to prepare for the Met Gala [as she] showed a noticeable transformation since her last major public appearances,’ he told the Daily Mail.
However, Kaling has previously said that her new physique is only a result of her intense training.
‘I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight,’ she has said, ‘but that’s the way I’ve done it.’
Nicole Kidman
Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, 57, not only stunned her fans with a slick pixie cut on Monday – but also with a dramatic transformation.

Ardent viewers were left worried about her visible spine and protruding shoulder bones
The Australian actress, 57, stepped out in a black backless gown and flaunted her toned arms and back.
However, viewers were left worried about her visible spine and protruding shoulder bones – wondering if Kidman was taking Ozempic.
‘Nicole Kidman has maintained her signature slim figures for years,’ Dr. Bharti explained.
‘It’s likely that medications like Ozempic, paired with lifestyle and dietary changes, are playing a role here.
‘Use of these agents in a sustainable fashion can lead to amazing transformations that are long-term, sustainable and look elegant.’
Priyanka Chopra

The Citadel-actress has also sparked rumors of Ozempic use after appearing astonishingly leaner on the blue carpet last night
Priyanka Chopra, 42, has also sparked rumors of weight loss medication use after appearing astonishingly leaner on the blue carpet last night.
Similarly to Kidman, Dr. Bharti suspects that she, too, has been using the drug in microdoses, paired with lifestyle changes.
Microdosing a GLP-1 agonist is where you take less than the prescribed amount – or an amount smaller than the smallest dose available.
The standard weekly dosage amounts of Ozempic are 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg or 2 mg.
Typically, those looking to microdose on the drug take 0.25 mg once a week for four weeks.
Unlike her counterparts, Chopra has not shown any signs of sagging on her face or thinning skin – prompting Dr. Bharti to believe she may may be taking the drug in small amounts.
‘Priyanka Chopra appears to be leaner than recent images, likely indicating potential Ozempic use paired with physical training and a consistent diet,’ he noted.
Vera Wang
Vera Wang, the famed bridal couture designer, has been at the center of speculation as she continues to show signs of Ozempic face during recent appearances.

Despite her already lean figure, Wang, 75, appears to have a sagging face, drooping eyes and visible neck bones, which have left experts concerned about her health.
‘Vera Wang has historically been fairly lean, but does look even slimmer compared to her past photos,’ Dr. Bharti said.
‘This can occur with general aging, but can also suggest the use of medications like Ozempic. In non-obese patients, noticeable weight loss can result in skin that loses its turgor, causing it to appear deflated or lax.’
