ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A Walt Disney World employee has been apprehended following allegations of theft involving a guest’s checkbook and the cashing of nearly $1,300 in fraudulent checks, as reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

An Ohio visitor recounted valeting her vehicle at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village, on a Saturday. Days later, she was startled by bank notifications indicating unauthorized withdrawals, according to the arrest report.

Officials state that on Wednesday, the woman received alerts detailing a $250 withdrawal, followed by a $670 transaction. Shortly after, more notifications flagged two additional checks, one for $98 and another for $230, summing up to approximately $1,300.

Upon inspecting her vehicle, the woman discovered no evidence of forced entry but noted her checkbook was missing. Detectives revealed the bank provided images of the cashed checks, all made out to someone named Mason Henrichsen—a name unfamiliar to the victim.

Authorities reached out to the resort’s valet manager, who confirmed Henrichsen’s employment at Kidani Village and his scheduled shift on Wednesday evening. Upon his arrival, deputies apprehended Henrichsen and informed him of his rights, as detailed in the report.

During questioning, Henrichsen reportedly confessed to finding a check on the parking lot ground and deciding to make it payable to himself. Detectives allege he acknowledged depositing the checks at a Chase Bank branch near Disney Springs.

Court records show Henrichsen is facing two felony charges for forgery and fraud. The sheriff’s office says the case will be forwarded to the Economic Crimes Unit for further review.

A spokesperson for Disney told News 6 that the valet employee works for a third-party company and not Disney itself.
