JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Thursday, a Johnson City man was taken into custody for having 34 grams of fentanyl, as reported by Washington County, Tennessee, Sheriff Keith Sexton.
Sexton stated that officers from the Washington County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) pulled over a vehicle with unregistered tags in the South Roan Street vicinity.
The driver, named Daniel Edward Barnett, 41, was found with 34 grams of fentanyl, according to Sexton. Barnett was also in possession of a glass pipe, straw, and scales typically used in narcotics usage and distribution.
Barnett was charged with Schedule II Drug Violations and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held on a $11,000 bond. Barnett will appear in court on June 26.
