The Town of Abingdon has declared a local state of emergency as winter storm conditions continue to escalate. In response, the Abingdon Public Works Department is collaborating with local authorities and law enforcement to ensure roads are cleared and safe for travel. On Sunday, Washington County, Virginia, experienced multiple power outages and numerous fallen trees due to the severe weather. The Public Works team in Abingdon has been actively addressing these disruptions to restore normalcy as quickly as possible.
