LADY LAKE, Fla. – Authorities in Lady Lake are actively searching for a suspect involved in a daylight shooting on Tuesday that could have endangered nearby pedestrians.

Detective Ronnie Williams from the Lady Lake Police Department expressed concern, noting, “There were numerous individuals in the vicinity who could have been injured.”

Law enforcement officials reported that the incident took place in the parking area of an Affordable Lock store. Security footage captured a man exiting a maroon SUV, disappearing momentarily from view, and is then believed to have fired seven rounds at a silver vehicle nearby.

The suspect was later seen re-entering the maroon SUV, which promptly left the scene.

The shooting occurred during a peak period, with several onlookers in the area, according to police.

Detective Williams highlighted the potential risk, stating, “Directly across the street, a restaurant with an outdoor patio had at least 15 patrons dining at the time.”

Investigators said they were alerted by a tip from a nearby business, but when officers arrived, both vehicles had already left the scene. Police also say no victims have been identified.

“No one reported someone fired upon them,” Williams said.

When asked what an incident like this could indicate, Williams said it could range from a traffic dispute to something more targeted.

“It could be a road rage incident, it could be people that have prior history… it could be a random thing,” he said.

Lady Lake police have released images of the two vehicles involved and are asking anyone who recognizes them or has information to contact the Lady Lake Police Department. Police also urge the public to use caution if they encounter either vehicle.
