Authorities search for missing woman after North Augusta vehicle crash

UPDATE, 6:20 p.m. – North Augusta Public Safety remains on-site, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has also been alerted. Drones are being deployed to search for Susan Rhodes in the area.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. () – North Augusta Public Safety responded to a vehicular accident on Gregory Lake Road Wednesday afternoon after a car veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

Officers state that the vehicle was “operated by a white female who exited the vehicle and wandered off into the woods.”

The department has identified the woman as Susan Rhodes. She was last observed at 2224 Gregory Lake Road wearing a bright red shirt, tan pants, black shoes, and an arm sling. North Augusta Public Safety noted that a witness reported she appeared disoriented and may be experiencing a medical issue.

Those who have located or seen Rhodes are asked to notify dispatch at (803) 441-4200.

Edgefield County Sheriffs office and Aiken County Sheriff’s office have been assisting in the search with K-9s and Drones.
