(KRON) — Two more former correctional officers at the Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) in Dublin have been charged with sexually abusing female inmates, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Thursday.

Jeffrey Wilson and Lawrence Gacad were charged Wednesday, becoming the ninth and tenth correctional officers to be charged in connection to the ongoing investigation into sexual abuse of inmates at the former federal prison.

Wilson, 34, is facing five accounts of sexual abuse of a ward related to his alleged abuse of an inmate at a prison, according to the DOJ. Wilson allegedly engaged in sexual abuse of the victim, named as C.S., on multiple occasions between March 14, 2022, and Aug. 16, 2022.

The DOJ said the acts allegedly occurred in a medical room at FCI Dublin. Wilson is also charged with falsely telling agents that he never had contact with C.S. and that he had never given her contraband while she was an inmate.

Gacad, 33, is charged with one count of sexual contact related to his alleged abuse of an FCI Dublin inmate, S.L., between March 1, 2022, and June 14, 2022.

If convicted, Wilson faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for each count of sexual abuse of a ward, and eight years in prison and a $250,000 fine for false statements to a government agency. Gacad faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the count of abusive sexual contact.
