UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Deputies in Unicoi County reportedly seized methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop on Friday.

A news release from Unicoi County Chief Deputy Frank Rogers states deputies pulled over a black Lexus on 2nd Street in Erwin early on Friday morning.

According to Rogers, three people were inside the Lexus. The driver was identified as Lou Solorio, 48, of Johnson City.

Deputies searched Solorio’s purse and found roughly 22 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a glass pipe and baggies, Rogers stated.

The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) indicated that there was an area in the vehicle’s backseat that seemed to have been altered. Upon inspecting the area, deputies reportedly uncovered a bag holding “multiple prepackaged baggies of a similar crystalline substance, along with a large bag containing a white powder suspected to be fentanyl,” according to the report.

The suspected methamphetamine from the backseat had a weight of 237 grams, and Solorio allegedly had 22 grams of the material in her purse. The fentanyl found weighed approximately 15 grams.

The passenger in the rear seat was identified as Marvin Green, 42, of Sevierville.

Solorio faced charges for simple possession, having an illegal window tint, driving on a suspended license, driving with methamphetamine, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Green was charged with possessing a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to sell, possessing methamphetamine for resale, and possessing drug paraphernalia.
