TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Temperatures will warm into the mid-90s this afternoon with feels like temps up to 105 degrees.

This afternoon, the likelihood of rain will rise to 50% along the coast, with late-day showers and thunderstorms expected to move offshore. By 7 or 8 pm, most regions will begin to see clearing skies.

The weekend promises to be hotter and drier, with temperatures peaking between 93 and 98 degrees each afternoon. The heat index could soar to as high as 110 degrees, making it essential to keep hydrated.

Rain prospects will be minimal, especially on Saturday, with only a 20% chance of a few isolated midafternoon showers near the coast. On Sunday, the chance of rain increases to 30%, with a few more scattered storms anticipated in the afternoon, also moving toward the coast.

The heat continues next week with feels like temps up to 112 degrees Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances will be on the rise as well with a 30-50% chance returning each day next week.
