ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Central Florida have apprehended a Colombian theft ring, which specifically targeted Asian entrepreneurs in the area, as reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

This criminal organization came under scrutiny following a significant burglary incident in Hillsborough County, leading to its identification.

“Our colleagues in Hillsborough County tracked the suspects to Orange and Osceola counties. We then worked together to dismantle this operation,” the statement from the sheriff’s office highlighted.

The investigation revealed that the group spent weeks meticulously observing homes and businesses throughout Central Florida. They often posed as landscapers to discreetly monitor their targets and learn their daily habits.

However, on Monday, deputies stated that an OCSO drone caught two individuals in the act of burglarizing a home in Orange County, providing crucial evidence.

“A strategic operation was executed in Osceola County, resulting in the arrest of all five suspects without any issues,” the statement concluded.

Deputies said the suspects face charges of burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief, and ICE detainers were placed on all suspects at the jail.
