Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican from Florida, asserts that Charlie Kirk’s impact at Turning Point USA will continue to strengthen thanks to the dedication of his widow, Erika Kirk.
“Erika holds a unique role and, without a doubt, I believe she will ensure that Turning Point USA not only grows but also recruits future leaders for this nation,” Luna stated in a conversation with Chris Cuomo on Monday.
Charlie Kirk was tragically shot during an event he was holding at Utah Valley University last week. He suffered a neck injury and collapsed, eventually succumbing to his injuries. Since his untimely death, Turning Point USA has been inundated with thousands of inquiries for setting up new chapters nationwide.
“I launched my activism journey alongside Charlie, and I’m aware that their mission, which involved recruiting and supporting candidates for political office to secure positions in the House of Representatives, remains active,” Luna shared.
Luna mentioned plans to support Erika Kirk with candidate recruitment for the upcoming elections. She emphasized Charlie Kirk’s concern regarding foreign influence in the U.S., which has drawn governmental attention.
“The House Oversight Committee issued a letter suggesting that the assets of a billionaire named Neville Singham, associated with the Chinese government to create discord in the U.S., should be frozen, as requested from the Treasury Secretary,” Luna noted.
Erika Kirk vowed to continue her husband’s work
In remarks over the weekend, Erika Kirk vowed to keep her husband Charlie Kirk’s legacy alive. She called for his supporters to join or start local Turning Point USA chapters, keep the campus tours and broadcasts going and find a Bible-believing church.
“Our campus tour this fall will continue; there will be even more tours in the years to come,” she said. “I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing this nation has ever seen.”
Erika Kirk also had a message for Tyler Robinson, her husband’s alleged killer, stating, “If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea.”
“You have no idea what you have unleashed across this entire country, the fire you have ignited,” she said.
Police say Robinson was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt thanks to a tip from his family and messages discovered on Discord. He is expected to face federal charges as early as next week.
Since Kirk’s murder took place in Utah, Robinson could face the death penalty. If convicted of an aggravated murder charge, Robinson also could face 25 years to life in prison without parole.
