JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Buccaneers from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) triumphed over the Phoenix of Elon University this past Saturday.

Following several weather interruptions at the start, the Buccaneers emerged victorious with a 26-16 score.

Quarterback Cade McNamara wrapped up the game with 268 passing yards and secured one touchdown by rushing.

The Bucs showcased a robust ground game and managed all three of their touchdowns by running.

The next challenge for ETSU is against Mercer University, scheduled for next Saturday, Sept. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in Johnson City. It marks the start of the conference season.
