Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley arrested on felony assault charge in Texas

ROSHARON, Texas – Patrick Beverley, a former NBA player, has been taken into custody and faces felony assault charges following what authorities in Texas have labeled a “family violence” incident.

The 37-year-old was apprehended early Friday morning at a residence in Rosharon, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. His bail has been set at $40,000.

In response to the allegations, Beverley turned to social media, urging followers not to trust everything they read online.

He also shared an unsigned statement detailing an unexpected encounter with his underage sister in the company of an 18-year-old male.

“Naturally, he was worried, just as any brother would be about his sibling. However, we dispute the current narrative and are eager to present our side in court,” the statement emphasized.

Beverley’s last stint in the NBA was with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2024. Over his 12-year career, he also played for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and various other teams.
