Temperatures remain steamy with heat indices near 100 degrees

Slightly drier conditions for Memorial Day.

ORLANDO, Fla. – As Memorial Day approaches, Central Florida is set to experience a slight shift in weather patterns. Drier air from the Atlantic is expected to move in, resulting in a decrease in rain chances. While the possibility of an isolated shower or thunderstorm can’t be completely dismissed, the likelihood is lower than Sunday, with rain chances dropping to around 30%.

Hourly forecast for Memorial Day.

Morning hours might see a few showers along the coast, but the sea breeze will soon push these inland towards the I-75 corridor by the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s, with heat indices making it feel closer to 100ºF, so prepare for a steamy day.

Increased moisture leads to higher rain chances next week.

Looking ahead to mid-week, rain chances are set to increase significantly as tropical moisture from the Caribbean makes its way into the region. Starting Thursday, expect more widespread storm activity, which will continue through the weekend. Although high temperatures will linger around 90 degrees, the anticipated showers and storms should bring some relief as they pass through.
