COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. () – Columbia County Deputies responded to a home in Martinez for an alleged sexual assault.
35-year-old Jason Dutton was arrested after the victim said that Dutton, a “close family friend”, raped her.
Sources indicate that Dutton remained at the residence following a July 4th celebration due to excessive drinking. He was settled on the couch around 2:00 am while the homeowners retired to bed.
Dutton allegedly went to the victim’s room touched her genitals, performed oral sex, and penetrated her with his finger.
The victim told her parents about the alleged incident, and Dutton was made to leave.
When deputies interviewed the victim’s brother, he mentioned that he fell asleep in the same room as the victim but awoke in a different location. He allegedly informed them that he was relocated during the night.
Dutton is charged with Aggravated Sodomy and remains in the Columbia County Jail.
