Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, a Democrat from Arizona, has been in a holding pattern for nearly seven weeks, as she awaits her official swearing-in ceremony. She attributes this delay to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s reluctance to proceed with the ceremony.
In an interview with ‘Elizabeth Vargas Reports,’ Grijalva expressed her frustration at being left “in limbo” since September 23.
While Johnson, a Republican, isn’t legally bound to postpone the ceremony due to the government shutdown, speculation is rife that his hesitation might be linked to a House resolution. This resolution seeks the release of files associated with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and Grijalva’s vote could be pivotal in its passage.
