PINELLAS COUNTY, Fl. () – Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit in Pinellas County have apprehended a man from Clearwater, Florida, for Sexual Battery.
Law enforcement began their investigation on August 23rd, 2024, after a male reported a sexual battery that occurred when he was 8-years-old.
Through their investigation, detectives discovered that the suspect, 62-year-old Bobby McAffee, forced the victim to the ground, restrained his arms above his head, and committed sexual battery.
On May 30th, 2025, detectives interviewed McAffee, who admitted to having sexual contact with the victim.
The suspect also admitted to testing positive for HIV, and the victim recently found out he is also now HIV positive.
McAffee was charged with one count of Sexual Battery of a Child Less Than 12 Years Old and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
The investigation continues.
