CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — With National HIV Testing Day on the horizon, the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is encouraging locals to prioritize their health by getting tested.

On Friday, June 27, free HIV and syphilis tests will be offered by CUPHD staff at the Champaign Walgreens, located at 1509 S. Neil Street. The tests will be conducted between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

“Visit our mobile unit for swift, confidential testing on National HIV Testing Day. No need for an appointment—just walk in!” stated the health district on Facebook.

If you can’t make it this week, the CUPHD said you can find a testing site near you here.

National HIV Testing Day was first observed 30 years ago. Organizers said it’s meant to encourage people to get tested so that they know their health status and have the ability to connect with care and treatment.
