EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – On Friday, New York Giants linebacker Abdul Carter expressed his concerns about quarterback Jaxson Dart’s recent actions, particularly his appearance at a rally where he introduced former President Donald Trump.

“There are moments when the issues transcend the game, and this is certainly one of them,” Carter remarked. “Jaxson holds a pivotal role as one of our leaders, embodying not just his own image but that of the entire franchise. His choices reflect on all of us wearing the Giants uniform. If he chooses to stand with someone like President Trump, I feel it’s my duty to show my teammates, and the world, that I don’t share that view.”

Carter took to social media on Saturday after confirming the authenticity of a video showing Dart on stage with Trump. Later, Carter mentioned he had a conversation with Dart, resolving any tensions, and reiterated their mutual understanding after a team workout.

“This isn’t about spreading animosity,” Carter clarified. “It doesn’t mean there’s any enmity between Jaxson and me. We sit together in every team meeting and maintain a strong bond. As long as our objectives as a team align, which they do, that’s what truly matters.”

In a prepared statement, Dart indicated he had addressed the matter with his teammates, choosing not to mention Trump by name. He emphasized his respect for the presidential office.

Head Coach John Harbaugh expressed optimism, believing that the Giants would emerge stronger from this situation.
