Illinois football announces 2025 team captains

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – Illinois football announced its team captains for the 2025 season on Friday.

The group of program leaders is made up of six players, including four repeat captains from the 2024 season.

For 2025, the Illini football team has named six seniors as their captains: quarterback Luke Altmyer, outside linebacker Gabe Jacas, Josh Kreutz, Miles Scott, Tanner Arkin, and Dylan Rosiek.

Team captains were decided by a team vote.

Stocks, Anderson to lean on chemistry in senior season

Scott, Arkin, Rosiek, and Kreutz are continuing their roles as captains from 2024. This year, Altmyer and Jacas have taken on the leadership role for the first time. In 2024, Pat Bryant and Seth Coleman were among the captains as well.
