A 43-year-old woman from central Illinois is facing serious charges after allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage boy, resulting in the birth of a child. The incident reportedly began after she acted as a chaperone at a middle school dance attended by the teen in 2023.

Robyn Polston, a resident of Washington, Illinois, is currently detained and has been charged with two counts each of criminal sexual assault of a minor and possession of child pornography, as reported by WMBD, a Peoria-based news affiliate. Her court appearance is set for December 4.

The investigation into Polston commenced when she gave birth in January and initially claimed that the father of her child was a man in his 20s. However, a probable cause affidavit submitted to the Tazewell County Circuit Court this week revealed that DNA testing identified the father as a teenage boy connected to Polston.
