ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Over the bustling Memorial Day weekend, a 56-year-old man has been charged after authorities reported he engaged in inappropriate conduct, exposing himself in front of both adults and children at a resort pool located near SeaWorld Orlando.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were dispatched to the Hilton Grand Vacations Club near SeaWorld Orlando on Saturday evening following reports of a man behaving indecently in the pool area.
Officials identified the individual as David Bain. He now faces charges related to lewd and lascivious behavior as well as indecent exposure.
According to deputies, distressed guests alerted a hotel staff member shortly after 7 p.m. when they noticed Bain with his pants down by the pool. The arrest report mentions that a staff member observed Bain exposing himself while several women hurriedly moved their children away from the scene.
Resort guests expressed their unease over the incident.
“Oh my, yes that’s very discerning and I’m glad that the residents or the people that were staying here hopped in and grabbed him,” remarked one concerned guest.
Investigators said hotel security personnel and another guest confronted Bain and told him to pull his pants up. Deputies said the men prevented Bain from leaving before law enforcement arrived.
Authorities also said video evidence showed Bain acting in a sexual manner “in full view of multiple women, children and multiple employees of the hotel.”
Guests told News 6 the incident raises concerns about safety at tourist destinations popular with families.
“It’s very important, but we understand that it happens all the time, but I’m glad that everybody stepped in and took care of it,” a visitor said.
An employee who spoke with News 6 off camera said staff members have continued discussing the incident since Saturday and believed security personnel responded appropriately.
Online jail records show Bain remained in custody at the Orange County Jail as of Tuesday.
News 6 reached out to Hilton Grand Vacations Club’s corporate office for comment, but the office was closed Tuesday evening.
