Meet the new leader of the Unity Rockets football team

Unity Football in Tolono, Ill. will have a new head coach this fall, succeeding Scott Hamilton, who led the team for the past 31 seasons. The new coach, however, is no stranger to the program.

Tony Reetz will step into the role after serving on Unity’s staff for 22 years.

“One of the reasons for Unity’s success is its stability,” stated Reetz, who also coaches the head girls’ track and field team. “Our administration, school board, and community support have all been consistent. With me stepping in, nearly all the same assistants remain in place. They have been exceptional colleagues and continue to support me as they did Scott, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.”

Reetz and the other assistants faced a choice following Hamilton’s retirement: retire alongside him or maintain the momentum he had fostered. By opting for the latter, they believe that continuity and familiarity will sustain the Rockets’ tradition of success.
