CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Tory Bruno is making a noteworthy transition in the aerospace industry.

Previously reported by News 6, Tory Bruno, the former CEO of United Launch Alliance (ULA), has departed from the company to take on a new venture. The latest news reveals he has joined Blue Origin.

Blue Origin, founded by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, announced on X.com that Bruno will assume the role of president for their newly established National Security Group.

This move aligns with Bruno’s extensive background at ULA, where he handled numerous defense contracts for satellite launches.

During his leadership at ULA, Bruno collaborated with Blue Origin to develop the engine central to ULA’s Vulcan Centaur rocket and established ULA as the launch provider for Blue Origin’s Project Kuiper, an ambitious satellite internet initiative.

Dave Limp, Blue Origin’s CEO, extended a warm welcome to Bruno on X, highlighting his “unmatched experience” in the sector.

Thanks Dave. We are going to bring important, innovative, and urgently needed capabilities to our Nation. Can’t wait to get started. https://t.co/ErUZE9lWbi

Bezos also weighed in.

Blue Origin already has some major government contracts, including a contract of up to $10.2 billion for a lunar lander for a future Artemis program mission, along with a more than $2 billion contract for the National Security Space Launch program.
