(WJW) – On August 18, KFC is set to reintroduce two menu favorites that have been absent for years, with one item having been retired over five years ago.
Recently, KFC revealed that their Potato Wedges would be returning to the menu, prompted by “thousands” of requests from customers eager for their comeback, as stated in a press release. The wedges were originally removed in the summer of 2020, when KFC swapped them for the Signature Recipe Fries.
According to Catherine Tan-Gillespie, the president of KFC U.S., “This isn’t just about nostalgia; it exemplifies our effort to transform feedback into action as we embark on the Kentucky Fried Comeback. This is a bold, company-wide initiative aimed at rekindling people’s love for our brand,” she explained in the press release.
KFC later shared the good news with its X followers, sharing an image of a potato wedge and simply writing, “HERE, DAMN.”
“This better not be a joke,” one fan on X responded.
“I’m ashamed of how happy this makes me,” another said.

Alongside the wedges, Hot & Spicy Wings are also making a return after being axed from the menu two years prior, as per the company. Customers will be able to enjoy the returning items in a six-piece Wings & Wedges combo or a larger Wings & Wedges Fan Favorite Box.
Both the wings and wedges are available “while supplies last,” KFC said.
Additionally, KFC sought customer input on other menu items they wish to see revived, prompting suggestions on social media for options like Honey BBQ Wings and KFC Go Cups. One customer even called for the return of KFC’s Little Bucket Parfait cups, which were a menu staple for decades prior to their discontinuation.
“You bring this back, you win me for life,” one fan wrote.
