JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The first musician in Johnson City’s Fridays After 5 summer concert series will take the stage in King Commons Park next week on May 30.

The Fridays After 5 concerts are free to attend and will take place every Friday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. from May 30 until August 1.

News Channel 11 spoke with Sara Delbene, City of Johnson City special events manager, to see what is in store for this year’s series.

“Every week is different,” she stated. “We have a wide range of music, from bluegrass to rock to an 80s cover band this year. It’s a wide range of music, but it’s also an event that, whether you’re in your 60s or you’re seven years old, everyone in the community can enjoy.”

Fridays After 5 will launch the summer with Troubadour Blue’s “barn-burning jams”. The band has toured with The Red Clay Strays and collaborated with The SteelDrivers.
