KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — In an effort to revitalize a cherished downtown icon, the Kingsport Economic Development Board has set its sights on acquiring the historic State Theater located on Broad Street. The board has proposed a purchase price of $175,000 for the property. According to city officials, the previous owner invested in the building’s foundation, ensuring its structural integrity remains intact. The board’s chairman expressed enthusiasm about the potential transformation of this storied venue.
