ORLANDO, Fla. – Scattered strong storms are rolling through portions of west central Flagler County from Putnam County.
Locations to be impacted include Crescent City, Pomona Park, Fruitland, Welaka, Lake Como and Georgetown.
Central Florida counties face a slight risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather on Sunday. A couple of storms could escalate to severe levels, with the primary issues being heavy rain, abundant lightning, small hail, and wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. However, the chance of tornadoes on Sunday remains very low.
Minor flooding may occur, particularly in areas that are low-lying or have poor drainage. Although not all regions will experience flooding, those that are usually vulnerable should remain vigilant.
The News 6 Pinpoint Weather team is also keeping an eye on the northern Gulf, as the National Hurricane Center notes a low probability for tropical development in the coming days.
While development odds remain small, tropical moisture is expected to persist and keep rain chances high for Central Florida throughout the week.
