Macon County Nonprofit Introduces "Secret Santa" Initiative

In Macon County, Illinois, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting children and adults with developmental disabilities is calling on the community to join its annual Secret Santa initiative.

Macon Resources is inviting individuals, groups, and businesses to participate in this heartwarming program, which aims to collect gifts for over 80 individuals.

The recipients of these gifts are people with developmental disabilities who reside either in one of the nonprofit’s nine group homes or independently within the community.

A law enforcement food drive has also made its return to Champaign County, illustrating the community’s spirit of giving during the holiday season.

Here’s how to get involved:

“Secret Santa is one of my favorite events of the year,” expressed Amy Bliefnick, President and CEO of Macon Resources. “The generous support we receive during this time truly enhances the holiday experience. For those we serve, the knowledge that someone is thinking of them and wishing them a Merry Christmas is incredibly meaningful.”

Anyone interested in getting involved can choose to adopt a participant or contribute through a donation.

You can also make a donation to help MRI purchase more presents for the people they serve.

Organizers said new this year is the “Christmas Sponsors.” Businesses who donate $250 will be included as part of the Secret Santa Christmas Sponsors on social media posts and mentions throughout the Christmas Season.
