The National Hurricane Center has announced a tropical storm warning for regions along the Gulf Coast due to a Tropical Depression Two alert.

As of 4 p.m. on Saturday, Mexico has issued a tropical storm warning stretching from Boca de Catan down to Tecolutla. This indicates that storm conditions are likely to occur within the next 36 hours.

Meteorologists have pinpointed the location of Tropical Depression Two near the Bay of Campeche. It is anticipated to keep moving in a west-northwest direction, with projections of landfall on the Mexican coast by Sunday night, moving further inland by Monday.

Maximum winds are near 30 mph with higher gusts. Some intensification is expected over the next day or so, as the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm before reaching Mexico’s coast.

Rainfall is expected and may total 3 to 6 inches with a maximum of 10 inches possible across Veracruz, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas. Flash and urban flooding are possible.
