NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Changes are on the horizon for Nashville’s skyline. The Paramount skyscraper, which is currently being built, will surpass the iconic AT&T building, commonly known as the Batman Building, becoming the tallest in Tennessee.

Developer Tony Giarratana is well-known for crafting some of Nashville’s most upscale residential buildings, beginning with Cumberland on Church.

“In 1993, we developed the Cumberland apartments. That was extremely difficult,” Giarratana said. “It opened with one resident.”

He continued his work by developing more structures, including a significant project: the 505. This 45-story residential skyscraper debuted in 2017, adding to the city’s luxury high-rise scene.

Since the launch of 505, Giarratana has also developed Prime and Alcove, both standing over 30 stories tall along Church Street, just a few blocks from Paramount.

Moving forward, Giarratana aimed for something even grander. The concept for Paramount began shaping up in January 2021, and with a $340 million construction loan, the project is fully financed.

“505 had 178 condominiums atop 350 apartments and 500 parking spaces. We’re applying that formula to Paramount,” Giarratana mentioned. “Paramount features 140 condominiums at the top, with a stunning amenity area on level 40, akin to the penthouse level of Four Seasons; it also includes 360 apartments, some of which may later convert to condominiums, above 500 parking spaces.”

The 60-story Paramount is expected to open May 11, 2028, at 1010 Church Street, next to the YMCA.
