WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) As the mayoral election draws near, Democratic contender Zohran Mamdani organized a rally with prominent backers, including Attorney General Letitia James, who faces federal charges.

This was James’ first public appearance since the charges were announced, and she indirectly addressed the accusations.

“I will not bow, I will not break, I will not bend, I will not capitulate,” declared James. “I will not give in, I will not give up. If you come for me, you come for all of us.”

James officially endorsed Mamdani, saying, “I see the courage that he embodies, and that’s why I support him.”

The rally drew thousands of supporters and a handful of politicians who used the rally to also back Mamdani’s run for mayor.

Curtis Sliwa and Andrew Cuomo did not hold any events on Monday night.
