Man never resurfaced after falling off boat, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Orange County are currently looking for a man who went overboard from a boat on Lake Butler and failed to re-emerge on Saturday afternoon.

According to the a news release, deputies responded to reports of a man down at 9927 Giffin Court around 4:15 p.m.

Orange County Fire Rescue said three people fell off of the boat and that two were able to get out of the water.

A third person, a man in his 20s never resurfaced, deputies said.

As stated in the report, teams from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Orange County Fire Rescue are conducting their search for the individual with the help of rescue divers and drones.

No other information was released.
